We had our workday on Thursday this week because it looks like the whole weekend will be a rain fest.  We started by finding and moving very large boulders to our newest banked turn for back support.  Since it is such a steep side slope we needed to put really big boulders in place.  Lot of pry bar work with all 4 of us prying the rocks slowly in place.  We used the Vermeer to harvest rocks, but had to remove rocks all around the area we were running across with the machine in order to not damage the rubber tracks.  The good news is that we have a huge pile of rocks we have collected.  We have more work to do for the support of the banked turn, but decided to take a break with that for the afternoon.  In the afternoon we pushed forward on the trail and got into the drainage area of the ravine.  We tried to leave the area in good shape for the rain this weekend.  There is an huge amount of organic material in this area that was a lot of work to move off to piles out of the area we are working.
